Phil Sansom from The Naked Scientists visited the Glass Solutions site in Ely, Sutton for the show’s latest podcast episode titled “Crystal Clear About Glass”.
Based at Cambridge University’s Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), the Naked Scientists are a team of scientists, doctors and communicators whose passion is to help the general public to understand and engage with the worlds of science, technology and medicine.
Glass Solutions Technical Lead, Ryan Wood spoke to Phil about the complex process of heating and shaping glass, and defended the glassblowing art, “Some people say that glassblowing is a dying art, but glass will always have a place in the science market…if there’s science, there’s glass.”
The episode was broadcast on Radio Cambridgeshire and the podcast is available to watch on The Naked Scientists website.
